Over the last few years, Chinese netizens population incredibly outnumbered the 200 million US netizens. From now on, China is the largest - ever - "digitalized population" on earth, nearly reaching 500 million souls connected on the Net. Since 2009, online shopping market almost doubled to reach EUR 50 billion by the end of 2010.

Nowadays in China, beside TV and Press, Internet is one of the major media in everyday life. And definitively the fast growing one: 18 hours per week spent online in 2009 (ranking 2nd) versus 5.5 hours in 2003.

During this conference, Patrice Nordey will give a global presentation of the Chinese e-Commerce landscape, explain how some new trends will disrupt this market and discuss various strategies recently applied by brands to enter the game.


Patrice Nordey is CEO of L'Atelier (China) Ltd., a subsidiary of "L'Atelier BNP Paribas", the innovation center established by the bank in 1978. He joined BNP Paribas Group in 2002 where he setup and coordinated the "Internet-Intranet Committee", a transversal task force gathering all major web divisions of the bank for the executive committee.


Prior working within the banking industry, he performed several "knowledge management" and "e-business" missions of consulting for major MNC's operating in industries such as automotive, energy and finance. In 1998, he co-founded a web portal specialized on the Digital Economy (, nowadays part of the Web division of M6 Group, the second largest private TV channel in France.


Patrice Nordey holds a MBA from Sciences Po Paris (Paris Institute of Political Studies). He had been teaching for several institutions such as La Sorbonne and Sciences Po. He is a regular writer and contributor for prestigious newspapers such as La Tribune, Le Nouvel Economiste and Revue Banque & Strategie.


Axel DOUCHIN is the CEO of NEXIAN LTD, an IT consulting company based in Hong Kong and Shanghai. With over 17 years experience in information technologies consulting and team management in highly technical projects in the United States, South America, France and now in China, Axel Douchin and his team, provide various IT consulting services to companies moving or already established in China: from auditing work processes when choosing or improving an existing ERP, project management, process design and secured network structuring, to software solution consulting and technical trainings.

Arthur HAMON GAUJAL has more than 12 years of experience in the IT. He started his career in the Saint-Gobain group in Spain and then participated from the US to several IT international projects. Arthur joined Ip-label.Newtest in 2005 and successfully developed the business with key players of the financial industry such as Allianz, HSBC, Axa or Crédit Agricole. Since July 2010, he is based in Shanghai and in charge of the Asia Pacific operations. The Ip-label.Newtest group markets Internet and Intranet monitoring services and performance auditing solutions from the end-user point of view for websites, business applications, Voice & Telephone over IP, IPTV & Video on Demand, Mobile applications.
