The new generation of textbooks, e-m@nuel, which includes a paper
textbook, a CD Rom and an Internet site, meets with the expectations of
modern teaching.
Thanks to the Internet, teachers have access to a working environment
whose resources are regularly updated and can choose or create their
course materials for use by pupils in school or at home.
When it is launched, the e-m@nuel will be compatible with "electronic
books" (e-books). These terminals can then be tested in certain schools
for teaching purposes, leading one day, maybe, to whole electronic school
bags!
Created by Stéphane Gaultier, joint founder of the multimedia publishing
company Editronics, the e-m@nuel has been financed by Business Angels. FF
40 million of capital is currently being sought.
The first titles will be published for the start of the new school year in
September 2001 for primary and secondary schools.
