March 15th. To start with, Universalmusical.fr will provide access to
20,000 musical extracts, including 650 artists, 38 hours of music, 4 500
albums, 3 hours of video.
Internauts will be able to subscribe free of charge to various sources
of information. The site will be funded by advertising, as well as sales
of its records.
From September, the site will be able to allow on-line downloading “once
we find a standard for security” specifies Pascal Nègre, President of
Universal Music France.
Sooner or later, the site will launch an assortment of radio stations on
the Net and will provide a “free Internet provider” service.
